Nakamura-Noen, one of the biggest lily bulb importer have built their own big new cool-warm-warehouse recently. It can control the temperature by 0.1 degree, to keep good
condition very strictly, and to ship their bulbs to all over Japan always year round.
Nakamura supply more than 30 million lily bulbs in a year that imported mainly from Holland.
They are one of the biggest bulb importer, they ship them not only in Kochi prefecture but also from Hokkaido(north area) to Kyushu(south area)ship.
So they need ship their bulbs in time depend on each area’s planting season, in best condition throughout year.
And also, they have increased more expensive and valuable varieties recently.
Therefore, nowadays it is more necessary to keep quality control, they decided to invest about 320 million yen(2.4million Euro) to build new warehouse.
It is 1350 m2, there are 5 rooms, and very wide front room where they can control temperature to handle the bulbs.
In cool rooms, it has special ordered thermostats to keep the temperature very strictly.
And they can control the humidity too, to protect dry.
In some rooms, they control the temperature for defrost and pre-rooting, so their customers can save the job, and ensure the safety of the first stage of forcing.
There is solar panels on the roof, that make 128kw electric power, that will be most of necessity and to keep ecology.
They will hold Lily Festa in June, to show more than 400 varieties of lily flowers in the test greenhouse at once, and will sell some cut-flowers and bulbs too.
