Demand for Longiflorum Varieties

On the first day of Lily Festa, Mr. Taihei Yamada, the president of YOU KAEN, gave us a lecture. In a question period after the lecture, there was a question from the audience about longiflorum varieties, and Mr. Ymada gave us an additional answer for the question afterwards.

YOU KAEN’s stock of longiflorum varieties is going down every year, but longiflorum lilies are still needed in Christian funerals. Some people in the audience seemed worried that longiflorums’ demand for funerals will disappear in future, but he says that it does not mean that all lilies will be replaced with Oriental varieties.

By the way, in his lecture at Festa, he mentioned that recently opened flowers are suitable for funeral arrangement sometimes. He gave us some photos to show how they use such flowers in arrangement.
